Capitol Hill This Week - What to Watch For

Below are the U.S. House and Senate activities currently scheduled for this week that relate to Mississippi River Basin water resources. Links are provided to the relevant committee web pages, and, where appropriate, to pieces of legislation. Many Congressional proceedings are webcast live, and these should be, as well (follow the appropriate link).  All times are Eastern.  This page will be updated as warranted. 

Tuesday
  • Senate Environment and Public Works Subcommittee on Water and Wildlife hearing on innovation at water and wastewater utilities; 9:30 AM, room 406 Dirksen Senate Office Building. 
  • Senate Environment and Public Works Committee business meeting to discuss several items, including the nominations of Virginia T. Lodge and Ronald A. Walter as members of the Board of Directors, Tennessee Valley Authority, and S. 2963, a bill to remove a limitation on a prohibition relating to permits for discharges incidental to normal operation of waterways vessels; 11:30 AM, U.S. Capitol room S-219.
